Radio Alhara Takeover - Creating Patterns + Mark Torkington - Live Broadcast

A true fixture of Manchester’s underground music landscape since the late 1990s, Mark Torkington brings decades of deep digging and flawless selector credentials to the booth.

His journey began behind the counter at the iconic Fat City Records, an era that sparked his lifelong devotion to hip hop and the vintage grooves that built it.

A former resident at the legendary, genre defying Friends and Family, Mark was also a key compiler behind the celebrated Mystic Brew release series.

Over the years, he has helmed celebrated local nights—from the funk and soul stylings of Searchin’ to the beat-heavy C’mon Feet and brought his sound to dancefloors across the UK and Europe.

Known for spinning an electrifying mix of raw funk, rare soul, classic hip-hop, and hard-to-find 45s, Mark delivers an unmissable vinyl masterclass every time he takes the decks.

Supported by Radio Alhara resident - Creating Patterns DJ Joe Webster and Pablo Banquito!

Radio Alhara (راديو الحارة—meaning "the neighborhood") is an independent, community-powered online radio station based between Palestine and Jordan. Launched in March 2020 by a collective of architects, artists, and designers, it quickly evolved from a lockdown project into a globally recognised cultural platform. Operating as a virtual public space without borders, the station connects artists and listeners worldwide through an eclectic mix of music, dialogue, and sonic activism.
